SIBOMANA Emmanuel: The Rwandan Recording Artist on a Global Mission to Elevate East African Music Beyond Borders

In a quiet rehearsal room on the outskirts of Kigali, a young man presses a piano key for the first time. The note echoes — soft, unsteady, yet filled with something deeper: a dream. That day — May 28, 2024 — was the beginning of a new chapter for SIBOMANA Emmanuel, a path that is now unfolding on the international stage.

“I still remember the sound of that first key,” Emmanuel tells ihirwe.com an exclusive interview. “It was the sound of hope. I didn’t know how to play then. I just knew I had to learn — no matter what.”

Now, nearly one year later, SIBOMANA isn’t just learning — he’s building a movement. With a long-term commitment to complete his music education and enter full-time music production, Emmanuel is planting the seeds of a future where Rwandan and East African artists are from local voices to global powerhouses.

The Journey Begins: From Stage to Studio

Long before Emmanuel set his sights on Hollywood studios and international awards, he was already laying artistic foundations. He is not only a recording artist and music producer in the making — he is also a theatre actor, with creative roots that run deep.

“I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling,” he says. “Whether it’s through a song or a stage play, I’ve used my voice to uplift, inspire, and speak truth.”

He began his musical journey more than a decade ago. In 2012, he released his first gospel single, “Abana b’Abantu,” followed by “NAKWITURA iki” in 2013. Both songs, deeply rooted in Christian faith, spoke to themes of compassion, redemption, and spiritual reflection.

“They were small projects at the time,” he recalls. “But they carried my heart and my message: Jesus Christ, who died and rose again, offers hope to all.”

In addition to music, SIBOMANA Emmanuel spent years in theatre, performing in plays that touched on social justice, human dignity, and community transformation.

“The stage taught me how to connect,” he says. “It taught me how to listen. It shaped me.”

A Mission That’s Bigger Than Music

Though his upcoming journey into music production is grounded in technical skill, Emmanuel never forgets his core purpose: to glorify God and lift others through his work.

“I will return to recording gospel songs,” he says. “Not merely for fun — but driven by vision”. I want to sing about Christ. I want to release music that spreads hope, faith, and love across nations.”

With new compositions in the works, SIBOMANA plans to blend modern sound with timeless truth. His upcoming gospel music will be aimed at reaching both believers and seekers, combining spirit-filled lyrics with excellent production values.

“I believe God has given me this vision — not just for success, but for service.”

From Kigali to Hollywood: A Dream Taking Flight

From 2024 to the end of 2025, Emmanuel is focused on mastering piano, sound, and song structure. Then, from January to June 2026, he will dive into professional music production, preparing to work with some of East Africa’s most promising talents. But his vision doesn’t stop there.

In 2027, Emmanuel sees himself leading a delegation of Rwandan and East African recording artists to Hollywood, participating in international competitions and making appearances on global platforms. His artists win awards. They sign record deals. They grace magazine covers. And Emmanuel stands behind them — guiding, shaping, celebrating.

“I want to see our artists walk the red carpet, stand on Grammy stages, and be interviewed on CNN and BBC,” he says. “Not just once — but regularly.”

Returning Home in Victory

In his projected vision, a triumphant return to Kigali International Airport (Kanombe) awaits. Emmanuel steps off the plane surrounded by artists carrying awards — but also carrying a sense of responsibility. Family members greet him with flowers. Fans cheer. Journalists fight for quotes. Celebrities send congratulatory DMs on Instagram.

“This moment won’t be about me,” he insists. “"From Kigali to Hollywood: A Vision Soaring High.

Faith, Work, and Legacy

Throughout his journey, one thing has remained consistent: Emmanuel’s unwavering faith and discipline.

“I’ve faced doubts. I’ve been overlooked. But I’ve stayed resilient,” he says. “Because I know my purpose is bigger than the pain. And I know God is opening doors I can't even see yet.”

His commitment to excellence is matched only by his commitment to God and his community. He wants to be known not just as a recording artist, producer, or performer — but as a servant-leader, someone who created a path for others and used music as a tool for transformation.
